Christine Osei-TuTu has taught in the Millville School District in Cumberland County for more than ten years. She joined Lakeside Middle School's staff when the school opened September 1999. She was instrumental in helping to setup the distance learning laboratory and equipment.

   Prior to joining Millville's teaching staff, Christine taught in Delaware and in Atco New Jersey. Her interest in technology began while she was employed at Digital Equipment Corporation as a trainee and later as a computer programmer. Christine has worked and taught successfully with the Millville Schools for 10 years, first as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher and later as a leader in technology and distance learning.

   Most recently she has served as a Team Leader and as technology Advisor on Lakeside Middle School's SMT (School Management Team). In 1993 Millville established a group of teachers known as "T3s" (Techologically Talented Teachers). Christine was one of the original members of that group. She also was one of several Cumberland County instructional staff who took part in a pilot program at Liberty Science Center (LSC). This program was designed to let teachers on the receiving end of videoconferencing classes from LSC work on the sending end, becoming more knowledgeable about how distance learning works. Last fall, Christine helped to develop a mini-course using videoconferencing.

   Outside of school, Christine is very active in her church and serves as the choir director for the children's choir and director of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She is often called upon to lead meetings and workshops.

   Born and raised in Dover, Delaware, she is a graduate of Delaware State University and a post-graduate of Antioch University. Christine currently resides in Burlington County. She will spend this year at the Cumberland County Educational Teacher Training Center mentoring and modeling other teachers as well as working on her Tech Fellowship Project, "Exploring South Jersey Wetlands."
